Be warned well in advance, this blog is all about snobberism. So sometime back I was having a conversation with another friend of mine and we were criticizing a few people trying far too desperately to come off as one of the so called intellectual lot. And this thought just struck me for a second- would we really feel this awesome about ourselves if our daily dose of moronic fellow human beings weren't there with us? I don't think so. The Americans have put forward this theory you see, you might be considered a nerd in high school today. You might be bullied by the 'popular kids' today but tomorrow is a whole different story. See American Schools really are how they show in the movies most of the time, you have the 'jocks and the cheerleaders' and you have the nerds. It doesn't take much of a genius level IQ to realise that the nerds will be the successful ones in the future.
Now Indians are a different lot. We can't stand to be stuck with this blatant polarisation. In fact we'd go- "hell we can be both!" And yes we try and most of us FAIL with a resounding thud. I mean come on lets be honest, how hilarious is it when you hear someone go, "yeah yeah, i totally agree" followed by enthusiastic head bobbing... a friend of mine actually once asked the person to elaborate more on a point she had previously stated and you know what we got? One blank stare. Of course we felt good. Because if we were all the same in every way, we'd never have the competition. We'd never want to be better, we'd never dream big. And yes we're snobs. Very few of us will admit to it but we're glad the dumber ones are there. Don't deny it! You love it when you get something that some people don't. I've observed this quite a lot right from tiny tot land. Cause you know this 'oh i totally understand what she's saying' is followed by a snicker, a conceited little snicker. Personally I miss those days. I'm in a class where not one person has a 12th percentage below 93 at least. Its downright disturbing. And I'm gonna say it, someone has to! I miss the idiots... :(
